Last month, we had the opportunity to once again participate in the wonderful event known as Our Hearts To Your Soles. For those of you unfamiliar with Our Hearts To Your Soles, it is an annual event in the Twin Cities that provides footwear and helpful services to homeless and financially burdened individuals in our community. It is a wonderful event that is put on by my friends at Silverman Ankle & Foot and a number of other generous individuals in the area.
We have been participating in the event for a number of years now. The event is known for providing footwear, socks and health screenings to attendees, but there is also a booth at the event called “Ask A Lawyer.” At this booth, our firm and a number of other area lawyers provide legal advice and answer any questions attendees might have, all free of charge.
Ask A Lawyer
Working the Ask A Lawyer booth is always a rewarding experience because it allows us to give back to members of our community who might not otherwise have access to legal resources. Public attorneys are often overburdened with their workload and may not be able to provide the best legal assistance for individuals who can’t afford to hire a lawyer, so this event allows us to provide the best legal care we can to these attendees. They are always so grateful and appreciative of this opportunity, and we make sure they know what to do if they ever end up in a sticky situation this winter.
Hundreds of people came out for the event, and you can mark it down as another successful year in the books. We are so thankful to be a part of this wonderful community of individuals who look out for one another. We can’t wait to participate again when the event returns in 2018.
If you are looking for updates on this year’s event or when Our Hearts To Your Soles 2018 will be, I recommend checking out Dr. Silverman’s blog. The event is always held in November, and he shares a lot of information about the event in the weeks and months leading up to the big day.
