Alyssa Leigh Jones joined Appelman Law Firm as an Associate Attorney in September 2016. Prior to passing the Minnesota State Bar Examination in February 2016, she served as a Law Clerk to the firm. Alyssa is admitted to practice in the State of Minnesota, the United States Federal District Court of Minnesota, and Washington District of Columbia. Alyssa is a member of the Federalist Society, Minnesota State Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, Minnesota Women’s Lawyers, and Minnesota Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Alyssa graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in January 2016. While in law school, Alyssa was a Student Attorney for the 1st District of Minnesota Public Defenders Office and for the, William Mitchell based, Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners clinic, where she focused on helping indigent prisoners with civil and criminal issues. Alyssa also volunteered over 150 hours of pro bono legal services through the Minnesota Justice Foundation.
Prior to law school, Alyssa received her Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History with minors in Communication and International Studies from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, West Virginia.
Alyssa’s hobbies include spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, and traveling.
